How I Made It
Step 1: Designing the SVG File
As a huge King of the Hill fan, I’ve always dreamed of creating something inspired by the show’s classic moments. This project was sparked by my love for the “To Spank with Love” episode. I found an image online, formatted it in black and white, and transformed it into an SVG using Canva.
Step 2: Prepping the Cutting Board
I chose a high-quality cutting board and used an Xtool M1 laser engraver to bring the design to life. Careful alignment and precision were key to making sure the final product looked flawless.
Step 3: Laser Engraving
In Xtool Creative Space, I set the engraving parameters to:
- Bitmap Mode: Grayscale
- Power: 75
- Speed: 100
- Density: 100
After ensuring the board was ready, I watched in anticipation as the engraving process revealed Peggy Hill in all her paddling glory!
Step 4: The Final Touch
Once the engraving was complete, I removed the board and gave it a quick cleanup. The finished product exceeded my expectations and now proudly resides in my office, where it never fails to spark conversations and laughs.
